July 2nd 2014 Stop Press!
The film is FINISHED! Yes, after all this time, SNAP is ready to be launched upon an unsuspecting public and will be, on the evening of SATURDAY 19th JULY 2014 with a screening at The Arnolfini here in Bristol. Screenings run every half hour from 7.30 -10pm so why not come on down and take a look? It's also Bristol Harbourside Festival that weekend so there'll be lots going on and plenty of fun to be had. Come and join us and members of the cast and crew in the auditorium and in the bar. We hope to see you there.
5/5/14 Just in case you thought we'd done a runner......here we are at the beginning of May with a progress report. We have been away and to be quite honest, a little distance from the excitement of it all has been great for perspective, and we are now in a position to make the final edit with confidence. As I write we are awaiting the imminent arrival of the final music mix-down and we're in discussion with creatives about titles and formats and all that post-production stuff that just seems to grow like Topsy when you're not looking! We are also both suddenly busy with other work, so time is a slippery fish, and the edit a somewhat moveable feast. It's a bit like trying to grab a handful of stringed helium balloons whilst riding a unicycle up a hill (I am imagining this. It is not something I have ever tried.) but we are certainly getting closer. So to all of you who have invested in us/supported us/stumbled across this site, please don't give up on us. We shall have Snap ready to screen as soon as we can, and announcements shall be made. Also, anyone awaiting rewards for their Kickstarter pledges, they are in hand! Before I mash any more metaphors I wish you cheerio until the next time.

Yes.......get us with our technical know-how! After a week of returning stuff, paying bills and doing plenty o' naval-gazing we finally got to see the first cut of Snap yesterday. Our fantastic editor, Tim Hodges, has done an amazing job putting everything together and, you know what? We have made a film! It is a little thing of beauty and we are thrilled with it. There are a few things to be sorted out and debated over, and some sparkle and finesse to add a little further down the line but it's almost there. Quirky, off-beat, visually lovely and with a great soundtrack, Snap is most definitely a character-led story, which is what we hoped for and what our wonderful young actors made possible. We hope you will agree when incubation is over in a few months and our little project comes mewling and puking into the world!
Take a look at our gallery page to see latest uploads, including our lovely crew.
29/1/14 Shoot complete!
What an amazing weekend we just had! The house opened its doors to nearly 50 people who had given up their weekend to work for us for free, and within 48 hours we made a film! A short film, but a film nonetheless and what a brilliant experience it was. The learning curve has been almost vertical for us both, but our professionals held our hands and coaxed us along as we finally realised our ambition to tell this tale. The actors, most of them new to filming, delivered wonderful performances and an enthusiasm and enjoyment that was contagious. We are very pleased with them all! And our wonderful crew pulled out all the stops to provide us with beautiful lighting, sound, design and images that fulfilled - no, exceeded - our hopes for how Snap should look. We are eternally grateful. So now, it's off to the edit to try and stitch it all together and attempt to create a whole that is 100% worthy of everyone's commitment, from our amazing Kickstarter backers to our assistant directors, the production team, camera crew, sound crew, our gaffer, sparks, grip, art dept., make-up designer and artists, costume designer and assistants, to our friends Sal and Kev who came and helped out, to the actors and of course, our editor, who has to make sense of all the madness! We'll be back soon to let you know how it's gone.

- 18/11/13 We have just launched our Kickstarter campaign to raise funds towards our project. Check it out here http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/76665574/snap-a-short-film-about-destiny-and-hats . - Production News : we had a brilliant casting session on Saturday and have met over 20 wonderful young actors whom we hope will be a part of the film. Final casting decisions will be made by the end of the week but the ensemble is terrific and full of energy and individuality which we shall do our best to capture.
I didn't win the Adrian Pagan Playwriting Award - the winner was Thomas Pickles for his play "Dead Party Animals" - but I have been given a rehearsed reading of my play "Dissolution" at The Hope Theatre, Islington in March next year, which is great news. Details will follow and anyone who'd like to come along should ping us an email.
A Rehearsed Reading of "Dissolution" will take place at The Hope Theatre, Islington, London at 2.30pm on Thursday 27th March. If you'd like to come please email me, as seats are limited!
